The MatchPub App Lives in Your Browser

Nothing needs downloading to use MatchPub here. Open matchpub.cam in your phone or computer browser and you can start a match straight away, as a guest. For an icon, pin the site to your home screen; from then on it opens in a window of its own, the way an installed app would.

On matchpub.cam that’s the whole setup: the full service in the browser you already have, nothing to update by hand, and no permissions asked for until you start a match that needs them.

Open the site, find your browser’s add option, and confirm. On iPhone it’s under the Share icon in Safari; on Android it’s in the Chrome menu; on a computer a bookmark does the same job. The whole thing takes under a minute, and you only do it once per device.

Everything MatchPub does. You can start random matches by Video, Audio or Text, browse the online list, follow people, send messages from profiles, read your message list, watch the Live tab, and check your coins in the wallet. There isn’t a lighter web version; the browser is the service.

If you came in as a guest, keep using the same browser so your session and messages stay with you.

Not on matchpub.cam. The browser version here is the whole service, so there’s no installer to look for and nothing to approve in your phone’s settings. Adding the site to your home screen gives you the icon, and each time you open it you’re on the current version, since a reload is the update.

On Android that means opening matchpub.cam in Chrome once and choosing Add to Home screen or Install app from the menu. The icon then sits with your other apps and opens MatchPub in its own window.

Four things: start fast, make leaving easy, let you keep in touch with people you like, and be upfront about what costs money. Anything else is extra. Whatever you use to meet people, those four decide whether you’ll still be using it next month.

Once MatchPub is on your home screen, it behaves like any other icon. Press and hold to move it into a folder or onto your dock. On Android you can rename it from the same menu; on iPhone the name is set when you add it, so type something short if MatchPub feels long under the icon.

Removing the icon doesn’t delete anything on the site. Press and hold, choose Remove or Delete Bookmark, and it’s gone from the screen; matchpub.cam still opens in the browser as before. If you’re a guest, it’s clearing the browser’s site data, not removing the icon, that would reset your session.

The icon also saves you a step on busy evenings. Instead of finding a tab among twenty others, you tap once and land in MatchPub with the browser bars out of the way, which leaves more of the screen for the person you’re talking to.

Not to start. You come in as a guest and can start matching straight away; following someone asks you to log in first. A guest session lives in your browser, so clearing the site’s data or switching devices may leave your session and messages behind. Keep using the same browser.
